As of Nov. 1, 2026, Google's help pages document two AI callers that phone a business and book an appointment: its Business Profile booking call and Gemini Call for Me. Meta's Muse also calls US businesses in a beta, TechCrunch reported, and is the one agent documented to pay. An assistant can now carry a homeowner's request directly to your office. The job for a service business is to be easy to find, convincing to recommend and ready to help when that assistant makes contact.

What to do with this page this week
Print the "Identifies itself" lines from the tracker's second list for your CSR lead. Google's own calls come from its designated numbers, but a Gemini call comes from the customer's own number, so caller ID alone can't tell your CSR it's Google; Google says Gemini opens every call by saying it's an AI assistant from Google. Nothing we read says how Muse, Instinct, OpenClaw or Grok Bot calls identify themselves, so your CSR can't count on hearing that it's an AI.
Treat an AI caller that wants a price or a booking for a homeowner like any other lead: give it hours, service area, how you price and open slots. Before you change or cancel an existing appointment, confirm with the homeowner by text or by calling back the number on the job. No agent in the tracker documents paying by phone, so never take card numbers, codes or logins from an AI caller, and don't give one a customer's address, job history or payment details. Our guide to Google's AI calls has the full identification check.
Know what an opt-out turns away before anyone uses one. For calls only Google offers one, and each Google customer call or Gemini call carries a request from someone who asked Google to call businesses like yours.
Add "AI caller (which one)" to your call-log dispositions this month, using the agent names in the tracker, or "unknown" when the caller won't say. Next month you'll have your own count to set beside NextPhone's, below, which isn't split by trade.
The tracker, November 1, 2026 edition
Each entry's Status says how well its claim holds up. "Company page" means the maker's own help page, docs or launch post; "Secondary," a named reporter; "Promised," announced but not confirmed as rolled out; "Unverified," a social post and nothing more. "Not documented" or "Not stated" means nothing we read establishes it, which isn't the same as "can't."
What each agent can do
- Google price check ("Have AI check pricing"): phones a business, yes: calls several nearby businesses and emails the customer quotes in about 30 minutes. Fills web forms, no. Books, no: Google says it "will not create a booking." Pays, no. Status: Company page.
- Google booking calls for customers: phones a business, yes, after a customer gives appointment details through Google. Fills web forms, no. Books, yes: "Google calls your business to book the appointment," or books through the business's booking partner. Pays, not documented. Status: Company page.
- Google Search agentic booking (local services): phoning, forms and paying not documented. Books, promised May 19: pricing and availability "with direct links to finish booking." Status: Promised.
- Gemini Call for Me: phones a business, yes, for hours, availability and service quotes; it works phone menus and waits on hold. Fills web forms, no. Books, yes, by phone: books, confirms and manages appointments. Pays, no: Google says its calls don't handle payments. Status: Company page.
- Gemini in Chrome auto browse: phones a business, no. Fills web forms, yes, and asks before it submits. Schedules events after the person confirms. Pays, no: it hands the payment step back to the person. Status: Company page.
- Meta Muse: phones a business in a beta for calls to US businesses, expanded Sept. 16 (X post reported by TechCrunch). Fills web forms, yes, in its own cloud browser. Books travel; no appointment booking documented. Pays, yes: one-time Link by Stripe cards, and Meta says it checks with the person first. Status: Company page for launch; calling Secondary.
- Instinct Concierge: phones a business, yes, in early access (founder's X post reported by TechCrunch). Forms and paying not documented. Instinct describes "high-end service booking." Status: Secondary (same TechCrunch report).
- ChatGPT cloud browser (in ChatGPT Work): phones a business, no. Fills web forms, yes, on supported websites. Designed to ask before confirming a booking, and before paying, OpenAI says; no completed payment documented. Status: Company page.
- OpenAI dots: phoning businesses not documented (users can call their own dot). Forms not documented, though each dot has its own browser. Booking and paying not documented. Status: Company page.
- ChatGPT Get Quote: phones a business, no. Opens an approved partner platform's quote form inside ChatGPT. Books, no: quote requests only. Pays, no. Status: Company page.
- OpenClaw (open source): phones a business, yes, via a voice-call plugin on the owner's own Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account. Fills web forms, yes: an agent-only browser that clicks, types and selects. Booking and paying not documented. Status: Company page.
- Grok Bot: phoning claimed in one X post from Elon Musk, Oct. 25. Forms, booking and paying not documented. Status: Unverified.
Who can use it, and how a business opts out
We checked every entry below on Nov. 1, 2026.
- Google price check: signed-in users 18+, with higher limits for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers (July 2025). US, English; not in IN, LA, MN, MT or NE. Identifies itself: says it's Google, why it's calling, and that the call is automated and recorded; comes from designated numbers (fraud guidance); may share the customer's name. Opt-out: the "Bookings and inquiries from customers" setting on each verified profile, or say "Please stop calling my business" on the call.
- Google booking calls: customers booking through Google, in select regions and languages; not in IN, LA, MN, MT or NE. Identifies itself the same way as the price check, and the same setting turns it off.
- Google Search agentic booking: promised for everyone in the US. Identification doesn't apply, since it links the person to the provider. Opt-out not documented.
- Gemini Call for Me: Pixel 11 with a US SIM, Google AI subscription, Phone by Google beta, 18+, English, with daily call limits; the user must be in the US, and it calls US numbers only. Identifies itself as Google's AI assistant on a recorded line and names the person it's calling for, from that person's own number. Opt-out: per phone number at g.co/gemini/opt-out, verified with a 6-digit code.
- Chrome auto browse: Google AI Pro (20 tasks a day) or Ultra (200), on desktop with a personal account; US, English, 18+. Identification not stated. No opt-out on the help page.
- Meta Muse: free, with paid plans. US since Sept. 8; Canada since Sept. 18 (secondary); Singapore since Oct. 27. Identification not published, and no opt-out published.
- Instinct Concierge: some users, in early access. Where it runs and how it identifies itself not stated; no opt-out found.
- ChatGPT cloud browser: ChatGPT Work on paid plans other than Go, in "supported regions." Identification not stated on the help page. Sites can block automated browsers; OpenAI says each website decides and offers allowlisting instructions.
- OpenAI dots: Pro and Business Premium, plus Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare when an admin turns on the beta, in "eligible markets." Identification not stated; no opt-out found.
- ChatGPT Get Quote: ChatGPT users, for businesses an approved partner platform lists; region not stated. It opens the partner's own quote form. A business can opt out only through a partner platform's feed; there's no direct business setting.
- OpenClaw: free, MIT license, self-hosted, wherever the owner runs it. Its voice-call and browser docs set no disclosure rule, and there's no opt-out.
- Grok Bot: who, where and identification not stated; no opt-out found.
What changed since the last edition
This first edition captures the November 1 capabilities and availability checks. Read the date beside each provider's entry when using the tracker.
Agent by agent
Google's calls for customers
Google announced the price check on July 16, 2025. Its help page's examples are auto repair, salons, groomers, wellness centers and driving schools, with no home repair, though Google's I/O post in May listed it. Invoca's Dec. 10, 2025 report, vendor data, shows those calls reaching plumbing and pest-control businesses on its platform from July to November 2025.
Booking calls are a separate feature, and Google names no trades for them. The five-state exclusion in the tracker doesn't cover Google's calls to confirm profile facts such as hours, which aren't for a customer and have their own two settings.
Gemini Call for Me
TechCrunch reported Google's test on Sept. 24, 2026, and Google says it's rolling out gradually, with daily limits it doesn't put a number on. Businesses opt out one number at a time, so read the call-tracking guide before you block a tracking line.
Gemini in Chrome auto browse
Auto browse reaches you through your website, never your phone line, and the person takes over for "Finalizing financial transactions," accepting terms of service or creating an account; Google's help page doesn't say what it does at a CAPTCHA. If an agent can't finish your booking form, the customer who sent it never shows up in your CRM; this checklist covers the booking path.
Meta Muse
Muse became the No. 1 free iPhone app in the US on Sept. 18. Its calls rest on thinner ground than the rest of its entry: an X post by Ryan Fox that TechCrunch reported.
In an internal, pre-launch test, Meta had trained people place some Muse calls (404 Media, Sept. 22), and Meta said it will roll that out only "with the proper disclosures."
ChatGPT cloud browser
OpenAI's help center says ChatGPT agent "is no longer available" and points browser tasks to cloud browser in ChatGPT Work. OpenAI's own example tasks include requesting quotes from businesses, and it warns that "a sign-in or transaction step may not be supported."
Your site's bot protection can turn it away. If it blocks automated browsers, ask whoever runs it whether that's on purpose; that's a different decision from blocking AI crawlers, which the crawler guide covers.
ChatGPT Get Quote
OpenAI's spec calls it "currently in beta and being tested with approved partners." A partner platform serves a feed of the businesses it lists, and our Get Quote readiness guide covers the feed and provider IDs it expects.
OpenClaw
OpenClaw's latest stable release shipped Oct. 29, and the docs we read set no disclosure rule. But that doesn't put an AI call outside the law: in a ruling released Feb. 8, 2024, the FCC said AI-generated voices count as "artificial" under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, so its artificial-voice rules apply to them.
Grok Bot
Elon Musk wrote on X that Grok Bot "can now call someone or a business for you." We found no xAI documentation behind it.
The status labels separate provider documentation, reported releases and announced features so your team can use the right workflow for each product.

These sit outside the tracker for now. Amazon's Alexa+ announcement, undated and reported in late December 2025, says quote requests and bookings through Angi and Yelp are "coming to Alexa+ in 2026," and we couldn't confirm any are live. Yelp's Check for Me calls restaurants about wait times (TechCrunch, Oct. 20); we'll read Yelp's Q3 letter on Nov. 5 for whether its Request-a-Quote runs inside ChatGPT yet.
Sierra and Meta announced the Personal Agent Protocol on Oct. 6, and a draft spec is public and pre-1.0, with no production use we could find. OpenAI says custom GPTs are scheduled to retire Dec. 11.

| Finding | Value | Base |
|---|---|---|
| disclosed AI callers per 10,000 calls in September 2026, all lines | 4.0 | Small-business lines and personal phones on NextPhone; self-disclosed AI callers only |
| per 10,000 calls on business lines in September 2026 | 4.9 | Mainly law firms, home services and local services |
| per 10,000 on personal phones tracked all year, Q4 2025 to Q3 2026 | 1.2 to 1.8 | Same phones every quarter |
Published call data gives an early reference point. NextPhone, which sells AI receptionists, counted 4.0 disclosed AI callers per 10,000 calls in September 2026, and 4.9 on business lines, mostly law firms, home services and local services. On personal phones it tracked all year, the rate went from 1.2 to 1.8. It counts only callers that said they were AI, so every rate is a floor, and it doesn't say how many were agents calling for a consumer.
Websites have the same gap: in Microsoft Clarity's study of agentic sessions, 19.85% included a submit-form event and 8.42% a book-appointment event, which doesn't show a task was finished.
Our November 1 check of 1,096 US contractor websites found very little contractor-owned agent infrastructure in the responses we could read. Your phone line, public forms and partner platforms are the practical paths to test first. Add agent integrations around a task you can fulfill, such as checking availability or requesting a visit.
Ask about the channel directly. Add an AI-assistant option to customer intake, tag disclosed agent calls and check that website requests reach the office. Those records let a branch see its own adoption curve and act on it.
Where this goes next
We believe personal AI will become a chief of staff for everyday life: it will know a person's preferences, research the options and carry work through to completion. Choosing a plumber, comparing a repair quote and arranging an appointment all fit that pattern. The capability lists above show the steps already being assembled.
That is the future we're building Cheers for. A service brand needs a reputation an assistant can substantiate, accurate information for every location and a website and team that can turn the enquiry into a job. Start building that position while the channel is still developing.
How we keep this page current
Besides the monthly check, we look again early for Yelp's Q3 letter, the custom GPT retirement or any change to Google help pages 16421135, 16190256 or 18336420, Meta's newsroom or OpenAI help article 20001280. Each edition adds a changelog line to "What changed," and the four status codes stay fixed.

For Meta specifically, our Muse guide explains the public channels an assistant can use to reach your team.
For OpenAI's changing product lineup, the ChatGPT booking and quote guide covers current options and dated retirement notices.
Method
We opened every source behind the tracker on Nov. 1, 2026 (US Pacific). OpenAI's help, dots and DevDay pages, the FCC ruling and the Grok post block automated reads, so we read those in a regular browser. Google's help pages carry no dates and roll out gradually, which is why the tracker carries a checked date and why your own phone may show something different from what we saw. When an entry mixes kinds of source, its Status names each, as Muse's does.
An entry is a consumer AI agent that can act on the open web or by phone, and that its maker, or someone speaking for it, says works today at any rollout stage or promised by a date that has passed. Agents limited to restaurants or stores, waitlists, and promises for later dates go in the watch list.
NextPhone and Invoca are vendor data, and none of their numbers is ours; Invoca published no sample size. NextPhone's business lines only joined its data in November 2025, so the all-year series covers personal phones, and an August 2026 transcription upgrade may lift August and September. It classed the callers as sales or lead follow-up (36%), business tasks (32%), collections and account notices (26%) and scams and impersonation (6%).
Clarity's study covered 5.2 million agentic sessions from Aug. 13 to Sept. 9, 2026, from agents in the OpenAI, Google and Anthropic ecosystems on Clarity-tracked sites of every kind, so Muse isn't in it and home services aren't broken out. Its events overlap.
The census is ours, and it's a check of websites, not of calls or finished bookings. The 1,096 sites come from Google's local map results with Cheers customers removed, and they aren't a national random sample; 976 homepages were readable as served. None of the 976 registered WebMCP tools, and 6 (0.6%) marked up a ReserveAction, the schema.org markup for a booking. The one MCP server card we found sat on a contractor site a marketplace builds and described the marketplace's server.
We read raw HTML without running JavaScript, so anything an agent file or booking widget adds after the page loads won't show up, and every presence rate is a floor. The homepage crawl ran from 06:57 to 07:00 UTC on Nov. 1, 2026, and the agent-file checks ran from 10:13 to 10:17 UTC that morning.
The recorded-call searches covered September 1 to October 30, 2026. They were targeted searches, not a review of every call, and the window includes partner and vendor calls; we report no names, counts by company or call details.
